BOBBI BURKE

  As a family-focused entrepreneur, alignment on values has played a large role in Calgary-born interior designer Bobbi Burke’s success. 

After completing her interior design degree at Mount Royal University, Bobbi embarked on a 14-year career with a large interior design firm. It was during this time that she grew to recognize the importance of collaboration and the significance of shared values in a business partner.

  The pivotal moment came when Bobbi met Natasha Jalbert. In 2015, they joined forces to establish COPPER 8, an interior design firm that cultivates collective creativity. Setting themselves apart from traditional approaches, the company embraces an authentic, open leadership style while actively embracing innovation.

Bobbi’s desire to empower her employees is at the core of COPPER 8’s philosophy. She encourages her team to make decisions and contributions, building a sense of shared ownership. Junior designers are supported through mentorship from senior staff, a unique approach that has resulted in a team of talented individuals, who Bobbi fondly refers to as “unicorns,” combining their strengths to create a formidable force. 

  As the COPPER 8 team continues to expand, Bobbi eagerly anticipates the opportunity to broaden and diversify the company’s client base. Taking on larger projects while maintaining and unwavering commitment to exceptional design and client satisfaction is a top priority for her. Bobbi’s problem-solving nature thrives on meeting new clients and nurturing the growth of her team.

Outside of work, Bobbi’s weekends are often spent chauffeuring her boys to hockey or baseball, depending on the season. She appreciates a well-curated 90s rap and R&B playlist for the long drives.
